Accomplishments
We have two decades worth of accomplishments
- Trained more than 1000 community leaders from across the US and Pacific Islands to advocate for health justice and policy change
- Launched major advocacy campaigns to counter the targeting for AA and NH/PI communities by the tobacco industry
- Provided comprehensive technical assistance and training (TAT) with community organizations, advocates, health departments, federal agencies, and health organizations in more than 40 states and 6 island jurisdictions
- Provided TAT to community groups to assist in the implementation of policy initiatives
- Facilitated cross cultural collaboration across priority population groups
- Published the only two journal issues dedicated specifically to AA and NH/PI tobacco issues
- Published educational and advocacy toolkits including making tobacco relevant to AA and NH/PI communities, needs assessment; and program evaluation
- Built a national movement for AAs, NH/PIs and underserved communities on tobacco and other health justice issues.
