ECHOES

Empowering Communities for Health Opportunity, Equity and Sustainability

ECHOES is a national network initiative funded by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, Community Transformation Grant (CTG) Program. CTG supports states and communities in tackling the root causes of poor health, so that communities can lead healthier, more productive lives. The goal of ECHOES is to increase awareness of evidence-based and practice-based strategies that make healthier choices the easier choices for Asian American, Native Hawaiian and Pacific Islander (AA and NHPI) communities through effective collaboration, dissemination, and communication, and to advance implementation of these strategies.

The objective of ECHOES is to establish 5 community infrastructure components to maximize dissemination and advance implementation of evidence-based/practice-based strategies around tobacco-free living, healthy eating and active living. These 5 components are to:

  • Fund local regional partners to extend dissemination efforts;
  • Increase the number of vehicles for sharing evidence-based/practice-based strategies and key messages;
  • Amplify communication through a comprehensive multi-prong communication plan by increasing communication opportunities;
  • Increase the number of multi-sector partners;
  • Document and disseminate progress and performance of ECHOES.
