The 2019-2020 Statewide Pacific Islander Asian American Resource and Coordinating Center (SPARC) Leadership Program is a year-long program designed to increase adult engagement in tobacco control advocacy efforts. The program will provide technical assistance and support to fellows from diverse community groups across California.
The 2019-2020 SPARC Leadership Program is underway! This year-long program is focused on building a vibrant movement in tobacco control and health advocacy in Asian American, Native Hawaiian, and Pacific Islander (AANHPI) communities.
The program commenced with our 3-day Core Leadership summit on June 20-22, 2019. 27 fellows from across California came together to hold critical discussions about health-related tobacco issues facing AANHPIs and participate in leadership building activities. The fellows will continue to work together on policy and advocacy issues in regional teams throughout the year.
