Technical Assistance and Training

For the past 25 years, APPEAL has been providing Technical Assistance and Training (TAT) to diverse communities and agencies across the U.S. and Pacific and internationally. The goal of this program is not only to satisfy the individual’s or community’s request, but also to ultimately strengthen the capacity of AA and NH/PI organizations, individuals and supporters to address tobacco issues in their communities.

We can provide technical assistance expertise in the following topics:

    • Capacity building including APPEAL’s Community Readiness Model
    • Community Leadership development (over 1800 leaders trained)
    • Health Equity (including creating and implementing health equity plans)
    • Engaging Communities in APolicy Change (through APPEAL 4-Prong Model)
    • Coalition development
    • Comprehensive Strategic Planning
    • Data Equity Guidance (including disaggregation of AA and NH/PI tobacco issues)
    • AA and NH/PI youth mobilization
    • Tobacco’s impact on AA and NH/PI communities
